The shop is currently operated by the fifth generation owner. The premium warabi mochi, sold for 760 yen, is a popular choice.
It’s a weighty, well textured and not overly sweet dessert. It goes well with kinako (a roasted soybean flour). Anko Monaka (a sweet bean-jam filled wafer) is also popular and sold for 200 yen each. You put the slightly sweet tsubuan (whole coarse anko jam) on monaka wafers right before eating, so the wafers remain crisp and crunchy.
